Out of all the things needed for success, personal development is probably the most important. You cannot be sucessful in life until you are 'conditioned' for success. And you condition yourself by developing the right attitude, reading the right books, meeting the right people, thinking in the right directions and taking the right actions. It is rightly said that a man is known by the company he keeps. And it is also said that your income is, usually, the average of the incomes of the five closest friends you have.

Positive Attitude

All must have heard the story of two men looking at half a glass of water and one man commented that the glass was half empty while the other said that it was half full. The story definitely tells us that there are two sides of a coin and each man can view things differently. Of course, there is no right or wrong answer. The only thing it suggests is the attitude of the person looking at it and we are nobody to comment on anybody's attitude. But 'Attitude' is a 'self-regulatory' (if I may call it that) quality that decides whether you should be rewarded or punished for the attitude that you have.

Self-Confidence

Ever seen a person who comes up to you trying to sell a product and speaks to you very hesitatingly, has certain mannerisms like touching his nose, his mouth or other parts of the face, and can't seem to find the right words which he wants to say to you and is losing eye-contact. On the other hand, I'm sure you must have also come across a person who's very outspoken, looks you straight into the eye, is loud and fluent, has a smile on his face and knows what he is talking about. The only difference between them is the confidence they have on themselves, meaning self-confidence.
